What is the ARL?

The Strong Families Safe Kids Advice and Referral Line (ARL) is the first point of contact for child wellbeing and safety.

Everyone with a concern about the safety and wellbeing of a child should contact the ARL.

Concerned relatives, friends, neighbours can contact the ARL, and mandatory reporters must call the ARL. Parents and children are also able to call to ask for help for themselves.

Staff at the ARL will talk to you about the situation, answer your questions, give you information or advice and, if needed, arrange a referral to a service that can best meet the child’s or young person’s needs.

There is an online contact form on the Strong Families Safe Kids website, but staff at the ARL much prefer you to make a phone call to 1800 000 123 so they can get all the information they need in a non-judgmental and supportive way.
